The Missionary Headache
Categories: Bible

The Internet Monk has blogged on “The Missionary Headache.” His post looks at how many American churches feel threatened by individuals and organizations who are approaching America as an unreached mission field. I’m particularly interested in the way that the definition of missionary has shifted over the last several years and how the Great Commission is being globalized right alongside everything else in the 21st century. I’ve been wanting to post on Thomas Friedman’s “The World Is Flat” and its implications for cross-cultural ministry. Maybe now’s a good time.

Are you a missionary? Where is the mission field? Are current definitions of these terms useful or should they be abandoned for more accurate models of cross-cultural evangelism?
