The Lord Is King
Categories: Bible

My most recent upload at ShareSong.org is The Lord Is King, a song of praise I wrote based on Psalm 93. Psalm 93 is an awesome depiction of God as “Lord of the Sea.” The “Lord of the Sea” motif was very common among the people groups surrounding the ancient Hebrews. The Psalmist adapts this motif and applies it to the one true God: He is “mightier than the thunder of the great waters.”

This song is completely free to listen to and download. A lyric sheet with guitar chords is also available. These lyrics are based mostly on the NIV translation.  If you do listen, kindly give the song a vote!

The Lord is King – David Ker

(Psalm 93)

The Lord is King. He’s clothed in majesty,

Clothed in majesty and armed with strength.

The world he made cannot be shaken.

His throne from ages past and ever more.

The seas have lifted up their voice to you, Lord.

The seas have lifted up their voice.

The seas have lifted up their pounding waves.

The seas have lifted up their voice.

They say…

Mightier than the thunder of the great waters,

The Lord is mightier than these.

Mightier than the breakers of the sea,

The Lord on high is mighty.
