Speaking in tongues and mental health
Categories: Uncategorized

Stephen C. Carlson of Hypotyposeis blog fame has a quirky little blog called Feeble Mindings.  Lots of interesting stuff on there including a link to my post on Translating temperatures in your head as well as “sherbert” vs. sherbet and when a burrito is not a sandwich.  A snippet on speaking in tongues caught my eye: A Neuroscientific Look at Speaking in Tongues. He quotes a study saying:

“A recent study of nearly 1,000 evangelical Christians in England found that those who engaged in the practice [of speaking in tongues] were more emotionally stable than those who did not.”
