Elizabeth Ker, the grandmother of my grandfather’s grandfather, made a list of her children’s names, place and date of birth and baptism. She wrote out the list on the back of a page from an unidentified book published by the Edinburgh Bible Society in 1829.
Anyone know any Gaelic? The text on the page is as follows:
LEABHRAICHEAN
AN
T-SEANN TIOMNAIDH,
AIR AN TARRUING
O’N CHEUD CHANAIN
CHUM GAELIC ALBANNAICH.
EDINBURGH BIBLE SOCIETY
EDINBURGH:
PRINTED BY ANDERSON & BRYCE;
FOR THE EDINBURGH BIBLE SOCIETY; BY PERMISSION, FROM
THE QUARTO EDITION OF THE SOCIETY IN SCOTLAND
FOR PROPOGATING CHRISTIAN KNOWLEDGE.
1829.

Wow… I did find one definition for LEABHRAICHEAN AN T-SEANN TIOMNAIDH = but the definition only listed Old Testament… I like a challenge though – maybe I can find more!
Hope all is well!
