Photo: Storm blows in through Dinthi valley.

Photo: Running through the rain on the way back from a hike up Dzuntsa Mountain.

Note: This is a slightly expanded version of the original post which I sent out on Friday.

A Friday hike up Dzuntsa mountain became a wet race home through a sudden storm. We had planned to take the trail up behind our house that leads to Dzuntsa but quickly got lost in the tall grass.  After finally about halfway up we realized that a storm was blowing in and we had better get down the mountain.

We made it off the mountain before it started raining heavily but we did have a twenty-minute rain-soaked scramble through cornfields to get home.  Our evening was spent eating pizza by candlelight with the storm booming outside.  And sometimes inside.  Our thatch roof leaks in a few key places.  Like over my desk for example.

There is only a light rain today but the rain did cause us to cancel our Songo trip for groceries.  I’ll try again on Monday.  Hopefully by then the trail out of the valley has dried off enough.

Good pictures of your valley, and the rain. I am sure the rain was appreciated by most. We can identify with the storm in the house as the floor was wet this morning after our recent storm.
Austyn, Carol and I had pizza tonight And I reread Blue Like Jazz which has helped me differentiate between being Christian and Spiritual Christianity. Hope the trail dries out so you can get to Songo for supplies.

It’s harvest time so the rain isn’t that appreciated. Peanuts are stacked to dry and corn is being taken off the cob and put away. But winter gardens of tomatos, onions etc are being started and they need some moisture.
