I would like to show you more photos of our life here in the village but our Internet connection (through our cell phone) seems too slow to make it happen.
You can see some photos of our house in Dinthi as well as our previous hut in this post on the Afri-Kers Family Photo Journal: Our house in the village.
Also the post, The water well at the school in Dinthi, Mozambique has a photo of the water well near the school.
You can see the gazebo (here called a kasisi) mentioned in Dinthi Day 7 in this post: Checking the Nyungwe translation of Mark and It beats working in a cubicle. Both photos are from the Nyungwe Bible Translation blog.
David, we are really enjoying your daily reports from Dinthi. With all the home repairs, etc. you must be up before the crack of dawn to keep this up. We appreciate it! I have been sharing the info with others, as there are many questions about your health and activities.
As we are soon approaching Easter, I praise God for your efforts to bring the Word to the Nyungwe people so they will be able to experience the eternity that Christ has provided for us through His death and ressurection. I am sure that that fact helps to make it all worth while.
Hey Daddy-O,
We love you guys and wish we could be together with you for easter. We have a Good Friday and Easter service planned but it will just be in our gazebo since there is no church up here to attend.
David and family,
Thanks for the fun updates. I love to hear about what you guys are doing over there! It reminds me of all the things I am thankful for. We miss you all so much and think about you often. We will especially be thinking of you this Sunday as we celebrate Easter with our family.
Maci told me the other day that “Jesus died, but he isn’t died anymore!” Happy Easter!
We love you, Jeana
Hey David, Hilary, and kids:
After fixing a bunch of computer problems, I was fooling with my laptop and was going through my favorites list and realized I haven’t checked this site out. It’s too bad to let oneself get so busy and not keep up with some of our favorite people on this old planet. We’re having some friends over for Easter. One of them is a man and wife, the wife having accepted Jesus not long ago. I inspected their house and made a comment that apparently struck a nerve. A few hundred e-mails later and she became a Christian. What a miracle. She and her twin had been raised in a coven. Her sis is now asking a whole lot of questions and is e-mailing me direct. I’m having the time of my life with it. I’ll tell you more some other time. Wish you were here. Maybe we can “beam” you over for a few hours. Morgan Lake has just finished thawing and fishing will start pretty soon. We’re going to start fixing the upper side up for camping soon. I’m also building a good sized cover for large potluck type of affairs about half way from the house to the pump house. The house in Redmond finally sold! It took a year. Well, this is becoming a book. Sorry. We love you, Jake
