Dinthi Day 9
Categories: Culture, Faith

We realized this morning that not much will be happening in Dinthi this weekend to celebrate Easter.  In America, people at least have some idea of what you’re talking about when you say Easter, but here the majority of people don’t have a clue.  I thought we could produce a tract that tells what Easter is and has some verses talking about Jesus’ death and resurrection.  Below is a sample of what I have produced.  This afternoon I am going to talk to the director of the school and see if there is a way we can distribute this to the school children on Friday.

Image 1: Cover Illustration for Easter tract in Nyungwe.  Question: “What is Easter?” Answer: “It is the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.”  Bible text: Titus 2:11-14 in Nyungwe.

If you have any Nyungwe-speakers in your neighborhood you can print this out and share it with them! If not, consider praying for this outreach that it would reach many homes in Dinthi and spread the good news about Jesus Christ.

Looks like a good start, and something to bring questions about Easter that can lead to good discussions about Christ and what He did for us. Do you think that the Nyungwe speakers understand what ressurection means?

  2. Jay says:

I just printed it out and stuck it up on my office wall. Students who come in for tutorials often ask me about stuff on my wall. Some will ask me what that means and I can tell them.
