The Gule and Nyau are traditional religious figures throughout a vast region including Zambia, Malawi and Mozambique.  They are thought to possess awesome spiritual powers that allow them to perform miraculous feats of strength and acrobatics.  In April, Nhau spiritists from all three countries gathered in Angonia to celebrate their cultural heritage and show off their feats of magic.

Prayer for the world: Nyau and Gule of Africa

Heavenly Father, you reign over all the earth.
Show your compassion to the spiritually blinded and deceived who practice witchcraft and sorcery. Break the power of darkness and fear that controls huge regions of Africa. If these people can see your love shining in the hearts and lives of Christians they will turn from fruitless spiritual practices to the living and loving God through Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace.

Amen.

Please add your prayer in the comments for Africans bound by Nyau and Gule witchcraft.

I pray for North America and the vast divide that seperates the liberals and the conservatives. Each is so sure that there way is right that they will not even listen to the others point of view. I, too, am often guilty of this and am trying to be more open to at least listening to the other side. If I apply the WWJD mind set I know we can come closer together.
