I have been trying to avoid the discussion of something called “Penal Substitutionary Atonement” discussed ad nauseam in other places. But a comment by John Hobbins on Speaker of Truth blog has really got my mind spinning.

John writes:

What the kings did, including those of Israel, is detestable.
