Only a brief seven days ago I retired all the tattoo posts off my Lingamish blog and stuck them on a blog of their own: Where is Jesus’ Tattoo? Since then I’ve watched with amazement as the number of visitors to that blog has skyrocketed. Yesterday, in fact, the Tattoo blog passed up my beloved Lingamish blog in number of page-views:

  • Where is Jesus’ Tattoo?: 213 views
  • Lingamish: 198 views

Peter Kirk reports a similar phenomenon at his blog Speaker of Truth where the tongue-in-cheek Tony Blair is the Antichrist is his number-one most-visited post.

Technorati authority rankings tell a different story. Where is Jesus’ Tattoo? has a lowly authority of 1 since Technorati measures linking not views.

To put this in perspective, about the same time that I started the Tattoo blog I also started a blog called I pray for the world. It was viewed yesterday only 1 time.

What conclusions can we draw from these statistics?
