Commentary on Cyber-Psalm 3.0
Categories: Cyber-Psalm

Cyber-Psalm 3.0 is a republication of The Blogger’s Prayer which came out in April of last year. This prayer floats around in the back of my thoughts when I’m on the Internet. As Christians we must be on the offensive on the Internet, taking territory and shining our light, and we must be on the defensive, guarding ourselves from the Devil who would like to defeat us through the garbage that is out there.

“Teach me to number my posts and comments”

An interesting mix of translation English and modern jargon which doesn’t mean anything like what you intended! Why do I need to put numbers at the beginning of my posts and comments, and if so why should God teach me to do so? But that is the only thing that sentence can mean in English. Now obviously you are alluding to “teach us to number our days” in Psalm 90:12 KJV. But that does not mean we should count them (as 70 or 80 years’ worth, cf. verse 10), and certainly not that we should attach numbers to them (today is the nineteen thousand and whatever’th day of my life), but that we should consider them carefully.

There is a serious problem when literature lifts words from KJV and misuses them.

Yeah, I never looked at it that way. Cool. KJV gets in your head and never lets go.
