The Blogger’s Prayer
You, Lord, are sovereign over the blogosphere.
There is no place on the web where you cannot be found and praised.
Any place where two of your children meet
and acknowledge you as their Father
whether it be a blog or a chat room or a forum or an e-mail,
you are there with them.
I acknowledge you, Most High God, as the only true God.
I will not allow my blogging to become an idol.
Teach me to number my posts and comments
and guard me against frivolous time spent on the Internet
that could better be spent fulfilling my role
in my family and my job and my church and my community.
Your son, our savior, Jesus Christ
is the redeemer of every lost and seeking soul on the Internet.
May I be a signpost, directing all to him.
You have marked me by your Holy Spirit as belonging to you.
I will not set my eyes on any image that does not bring you glory,
nor will I allow myself to dwell on anything that is hateful to you.
As for myself, I wish to be salt and light on the web.
May my blogs, web pages, IM’s and forum comments
bring you praise.
Amen.
