Eddie on worship again
Categories: Faith

He’s a fearless fellow that Eddie. I missed this post and the absolutely riveting comments. It’s about worship and a person in the pew, the pastor and the worship leader all throw in their two bits. Yowza.

    I may take your suggestion!

I went to a Christian wedding service this afternoon and was rather surprised that “Blessed be your name” was one of the songs the couple had chosen. A great song, but at a wedding? Well, the vows include “for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health”, so maybe not as inappropriate as it seemed at first sight – as long as it is not linked too closely to its original biblical context in Job 1:21 and especially 2:10.

I have to tell you that song is extremely fun to play for a guitar player. My wife (a piano player) thinks it’s boring, questions of theology aside. Likewise anything by Chris Tomlin or Delirious.

Matt sings it a little higher than my range but with the amps up loud enough who notices?
