The fourth lens
Categories: Bible, Faith

Our lenses are three.
We need them all.
If we hope to see
Wide and far and small.

But, no! There are four.
Insight leads to reflection.
A mirror you lack
For your own introspection.

The aim of studying the Scriptures is not the attainment of knowledge but wisdom. And wisdom comes only when we apply what we have learned to our own lives.

What reflection of yourself do you see when you look at Jesus’ visit to the land of the Gerasenes?

Yes, grasshopper, er, I mean mayfly. The fourth lens is a mirror. Not to look at the word but to see ourselves in the word. More to come…
