Cyber-Psalm 8.0

Technical note: I had trouble uploading the mp3 to WordPress so I am using the old site for this recording. Anyone can stream lofi or hifi but you have to signup (free) to Soundclick to download the mp3. Sorry about that.

This Cyber-Psalm is an invocation welcoming the Deity to be present in a meeting of believers. It is based on the belief that “when two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.” (Matt. 18:20, NIV) And it projects that faith into the future when “our faith will be rewarded,” that is, we will see the Lord at his second coming.

This is the kind of singing that I wish we had in our worship services. Not my song in particular, but a sincere request to God from a community of believers.

I wrote this song a long time ago. One of my goals with the Cyber-Psalm project was to put more audio recordings on them. This recording was done in one take at Gary Rowles’ studio. To get to the studio I had to drive through Oregon fields full of grass in seed and that is part of what gives my voice that nice gravelly sound.

I remember when I wrote this song sitting on the floor at the Hot Dog house in Tete, Mozambique. It was really hot outside and we were hiding inside on a Sunday morning.

Sorry for not being more original but I’m in the thick of a very busy workshop this week.
