Cyber-Psalm 6.0

Here we go again, Lord. We’re headed off into the bush on that same terrible road. No gas stations. No McDonalds. Just miles and miles of bumpy roads. I hate this trip, Lord. I feel vulnerable. What will happen if our Land Rover breaks down? How many times have we done this trip? Two long days of driving and driving. I know you’re with me but I still feel anxious.

You hold us in your hand every day of our lives. Our internal feelings about our surroundings are no reflection on the reality of what is out there. Sometimes we feel perfectly safe never knowing that danger awaits us. Sometimes we’re scared to death when there is absolutely nothing to fear.

Fill my heart with your Holy Spirit. Let me see my surroundings with the eyes of faith and trust. Take from me my self-confidence and replace it with a firm resolve to follow you no matter where you lead.

Amen.
