Did I volunteer to do this? Yes, I remember vaguely signing up to be a host for the Christian Carnival which highlights the best of blogs each week. I’ve always wanted to host the Carnival but lived in terror of taking on such a task.

Since, I’ll be hosting from Mozambique I plan to give the Carnival a slightly African flavor.

By the way, carnivals got their names from the practice of abstaining from meat (Latin carn-) for religious reasons. However I can promise you that this carnival will not be vegetarian.

    But carnivals never were vegetarian affairs. Rather they were extravagantly carnivorous as they celebrated the last chance to eat meat before the fasting of Lent. Carne vale = farewell to meat. So do give us not just milk but solid meat!
