Christian Carnival 193: Lions in Africa edition
Categories: Uncategorized

Welcome to the Lions in Africa edition of Christian Carnival at Lingamish. I’ve dug deep into my personal photo archive for some ferocious photos of lions in Africa including some never-before-seen photos of a bizarre lion cult.

Note about the posts: I entered posts in the order I received them. If you’re not in there or you just forgot and would like to add one, let me know in the comments. This is Africa so Haraka, haraka, haina baraka. (kiSwahili for “If you hurry, hurry, there’s no blessing”)

A couple posts submitted made no mention of Christ or Christian thought and so were excluded.

Notes about the photos:

  1. Last time we saw Brian the Lion he was sitting disconsolately behind a chain link fence in the Bally Vaughn game park in Zimbabwe.
  2. These royal lions were spotted in South Africa.
  3. Henry, Andrew and Ellie show their pride back in 2000.
  4. Members of the mysterious lion cult preparing their costumes. The origins of this ancient ritual are lost in the foggy mists of time. The headgear is thought to represent the mane of a male lion.
  5. A group of lion cult practitioners in full display. The lion cult is closely related to the chicken cult which makes use of similar headgear.
