First, let me apologize for not keeping this series up. It ended up being too much work for me to handle by myself and there weren’t enough people signing up to merit keeping it going.
The good news is that Randy and Kelly Vaughn already signed up to do a month of posts before I canceled the series and they have published their first post: BENIN: Praying for the Aja People (1st of 4)
Several things have kept the West African country of Benin in my prayers. First, Andrew and Michelle, two of our dearest friends serve with SIM in Benin as medical doctors at Bembèrèkè. Second, Rob and Lois Baker have one of the best blogs coming out of Africa with regular posts about their life in Benin. Finally, Randy and Kelly really impressed me with their chronicles of readjustment back to America after living in Benin.
I encourage you to read BENIN: Praying for the Aja People (1st of 4) first of all because it will help you to pray for the Aja people, but also because Randy’s comments will help you to see what it’s like for Americans who adjust to living in Africa and then have to adjust back to life in America. The Vaughn’s have an advantage over most missionaries: they were able to adopt a darling little Beninese girl (Don’t get me wrong, the other Vaughn kiddies are also cute!).
You can see other I pray for the world posts at the blog: iprayfortheworld.wordpress.com.
And let me know if you’d like to host a month worth of posts, or take charge of managing and promoting the series.
