Cyber-Psalm 16

This Cyber-Psalm is written in praise of God’s word. Over and over again I find myself neglecting to read the Bible and thinking that it is inapplicable to my life in the modern world. Then when I finally do open it, sometimes just out of boredom, I discover amazing things about God and humanity and myself. Just recently I’ve been reading 1 Samuel a book I thought I knew quite well. But there is so much there forgotten and so much that speaks to me right now where I am. Shame on me for despising what should be my greatest treasure. And Christ as the living Word quickens every line of the Scriptures and helps me see them from the divine perspective. After all the novels have been read and the movies watched and the web has been browsed… to just shut it all down and sit in a chair with my CEV Bible. It’s a humble book and in some respects self-effacing. But when we humble ourselves and come to it, the Bible speaks to our hearts and helps us.
