Strike them down, Lord.

I pray that you would snuff out every despot.
Squeeze every blood-sucker like a tick.
They bilk the bank. They snatch the bread.

Get ‘em, God.

Throw them on a deathbed of dirt.
Drown them in their own vomit.
Gorge them on shards and rot.

Show them hell.

Savior-Turned-Tyrant and his cronies.
They have beggared mothers and children.
They have bulldozed poor men’s shacks.

Now let them cook.

Take it all away. The food. The girls.
The jets. The bank accounts. The mansions.
Leave them begging on the street.

They have created hell on earth.

Now throw them into the pit.
So that hungry children may feast and humiliated fathers rejoice.
So that Zimbabwe may sigh to be freed from this curse.

Amen.

I understand your sentiments. But I would settle for him taking a quiet retirement in a friendly neighbouring country, with a modest mansion and a modest bank balance, and letting his own country fix its own problems. Maybe he will have soon have the sense to realise that if he doesn’t settle for what I am offering he will get what you are asking for.

There’s so much we don’t know. He is considered by many to be a hero. A Mozambican friend today told me that Zimbabwe is less corrupt than Mozambique but is simply suffering from “desordem”–”disorder.”

But when I see ordinary people suffering it just makes me so angry. Thus, the imprecation.

    Hmm
    I rather like this one
but then imprecation is rather my thing!
