You know that a band is washed up when they start putting out “Greatest Hits” albums. In that spirit I’ve been going through my old posts and collecting Greatest Hits on various topics. Today I had a chance to look at all the posts making fun of JIMB “Jesus Is My Boyfriend” songs and also just generally ranting about how and why we sing to God.

Check out JIMB for a list of these posts with commentaries on most of them to help you to decide where to dive in.

Until recently I had been going through an extended dry spell of songwriting but thanks to a new gadget (Zoom H2) I’ve been inspired to write a lot of stuff lately. Also, for those of you curious about the status of the Cyber-Psalms, I’m still writing them but haven’t published any on this blog.

A final thing to mention is that I’ve closed down comments on all my old posts so if you want to do a little JIMB ranting yourself feel free to do it here or on the Greatest  JIMB Hits page.

What do you think about those images?

You seem to have also managed to redirect your comments feed http://lingamish.wordpress.com/?feed=comments-rss2 to in fact be a feed of your posts. This happened several weeks ago, about the time you stopped blogging. It’s not a general WP problem because the new BBB comment feed is OK.

I am a recent subscriber to your website. I have enjoyed what I have read thus far. I also enjoy the view point that you bring to the States from Africa.

I must admit however that I am not 100% sure how to take you on some of your posts. I am pretty sure I see sarcasm a lot, but sometime I am not sure.

In any event your blog is intellectually stimulating.

    Thanks

Thanks, Brian. Keep reading and you’ll get used to me. I never use sarcasm. But hyperbole and satire feature prominently here.

One of my readers found this formula helpful: I’m always joking and I’m always serious.

I chose “other” because your photos reminded me of a blog posting I made a couple years ago:
    http://thainamu.blogspot.com/2005/11/wave.html

  5. David Ker says:

    Peter, try this one: http://lingamish.com/comments/feed

Not sure why that is acting that way.

Thainamu, that’s a fantastic post. My heart’s desire is to engage in global praise of the Creator. Perhaps our song could drown out the guns of war.

  6. Razzler says:

I chose other because those pictures have made me quite nauseated.

It seems that http://lingamish.com/comments/feed is translated automatically into http://lingamish.wordpress.com/comments/feed. There Bloglines just found 200 comments but the most recent is from “Mon, Feb 19 2007″. But Internet Explorer finds comments up to today. Maybe Bloglines will catch up sometime, I’ll wait and see.

  8. Peter Kirk says:

Bloglines also just found 200 posts at http://lingamish.wordpress.com/feed/, also all from 2007 or earlier. And it has just found another set of 200 comments from 2007 and earlier at http://lingamish.wordpress.com/?feed=comments-rss2. Basically I think it has got rather confused, and perhaps has just been sorting itself out.

  9. Peter Kirk says:

Bloglines is now playing similar games with lots of my other feeds. So I’m now sure that it is their problem, not yours or even wordpress.com’s.

  10. David Ker says:

I think it was down today and has been having troubles. I don’t follow feeds these days so I wouldn’t have noticed had you not mentioned it. I do continue to peek at favorite blogs (like yours).

The new comment feed http://lingamish.wordpress.com/comments/feed seems to be working today, to go with the new theme. But http://lingamish.wordpress.com/?feed=comments-rss2 is now finding posts again.
