Note: The latest figure on our support is 80%. We know of people who have started supporting us but we haven’t yet received the information. We’ll keep you posted!
Our family is in need of additional financial support before we can return to Mozambique with our work with Wycliffe Bible Translators. I know many of you already pray for us regularly and several of you have supported us by sending care packages, coffee, and Christmas gifts over the past several years. If you have the ability to support us financially I want to let you know how you can do that. While I won’t make any wild televangelistic promises about how your gift will be multiplied I can tell you that our work in Mozambique is benefiting Mozambicans in many ways both spiritually and practically. We consider it a privilege to collaborate with Mozambicans. During our ten years among the Nyungwe people of Tete province we have seen large portions of the New Testament translated. Now I’m moving into an expanded role overseeing Scripture distribution for more than ten Mozambican languages representing more than three million people.
All our financial support comes from churches and individuals that give on a monthly basis through Wycliffe Bible Translators. Many of the supporters that we have now have been supporting us regularly for more than ten years. But because of rising costs in Mozambique (Gasoline is $8 per gallon, for example) we need additional support before we can return.
To find out more about our ministry you can see a three-minute video at our family website. If you would like to begin supporting us or give a one-time gift you can do that at Wycliffe.org/Give or by calling 1-866-736-4387. You can mention it’s for David and Hilary Ker or account 301245.
I apologize for bothering you with this stuff and thank you in advance to those of you who are able to partner with us financially.

David,
The number that people should be calling is, I found out, 1-866-736-4387. BTW, the very nice person who answered could not find you in her computer database. “Just as I’ve always thought,” I said to myself, “Ker is a fake.”
Blessed by God with mind-reading, she then made another try with her superior, whose database apparently includes types like you, and told me that your acc’t number is:
301245
Personally, I’ll be very happy to see you back in Mozambique where you belong, with your silly rainbow-colored shirt that you wore next to Rich Rhodes in Berkeley.
Blessings,
Johnboy
Thanks for confirming that info. As for the question of whether or not I’m a fake. That’s an easy one! What you see is what you get (and more)!
John, you may support the collection to get David out of America, but have you considered the Africans you will help to inflict him on?
David, because of my wife and I’s present financial situation (I thankfully just found out that we’ll be able to pay rent next month) we cannot give anything financially, but I do want you to know that you are in our prayers.
Got any rich uncles? Just kidding.
The friendship of people like you, Peter and John is an important type of support when we’re in Africa.
Are you really still at 80%? That doesn’t seem right to me.
There’s a lag in reporting time. I haven’t got an update but should have information in about a week.
David – count me in for an increase every month. May not be a lot and I would rather have you all here – but your work is so important and I love visiting in Mozambique – so I need you to be there – well and happy. Always my love.
