This is ABSOLUTELY beautiful…

I would rather live my life as if there is a God,
And die to find out there isn’t, than live my life
As if there isn’t, and die to find out there is.
You are my 8 in 8 seconds. I am not breaking this.
No way! I’M TOLD THIS WORKS!!!!!
Bishop T.D. Jakes ‘8 Second Prayer.’
Just repeat this prayer and see how God moves!!
love cross
‘Lord, I love you and I need you,
Come into my heart, and bless me,
My family, my home, my finances,
And all of my friends,
In Jesus’ name. Amen.’
Pass this message to 8 people {EXCEPT YOU AND  ME } ..
You will receive a miracle tomorrow!
I HOPE that you don’t ignore.

OK, let’s get started. First, the bad news. This is atrocious. It’s tacky. The theology is as profound as a puddle. And just as muddy.

But now the good news. Email is being used here to exponentially spread the Good News.

Now some more bad news. Or is it good? We live in a new apostolic era. The apostles are miracle working, prosperity preaching televangelists who impact the prayers and beliefs of more people than all the theological seminaries on the planet. Joyce Meyers. TD Jakes. Joel Osteen (I’m so proud. It took me about ten seconds to remember his name), The TBN network. God TV. Todd Bentley. All these people are the apostles of our non-print era. They hook you on TV and then you buy their book. And then they warp your mind.

Now the good news in the bad. Christ-centered, orthodox theologians can impact the world. But they’re not going to do it writing dusty little overpriced books. St. Paul fought letters with letters. Those of us who oppose the antichrists and heretics of our day must fight forwarded emails with forwarded emails. We must produce TV programs and glossy books and do book tours and radio programs. To ignore these methods as being beneath us is to imperil the flock we have been called to Shepherd.

It’s not enough to stand back and mock. We must fight for truth and the true vision of the crucified Christ and his impoverished followers.

Now for my little prayer:

A prayer of repentance to be said after succumbing to the urge to forward a goofy email

God, I hang my head in shame.
My idiotic emails have tarnished your name.

Instead of spreading lucidity.
I have been a proclaimer of stupidity.

Words of praise to you should be my song.
Not forwarded emails that are always wrong.

Help me not to waste others’ time,
But instead reflect on the divine.

Make me a fool for Christ. I am a fool.
But let me not be the enemy’s tool.

Amen.

Thankyou for this. What I hate most is the Christian message followed by the moral blackmail: ‘forward this to all your friends or die a slow and painful death’. I’m now scrolling to the end of mine and anything with a guilt trip gets deleted without reading.

  2. You need a better spam filter and a faster delete finger.

There are people working on the books and TV shows, but no one has really broken through into the mainstream, so it is mostly preaching to the choir.

But yes, when I speak to people about the Bible, Christianity, I am amazed how many are eating up this trash.

your prayer is near iambic in it’s form,
‘quotidian’ would give a nicer shine
than ‘idiotic’ used for common norm,
‘transcendent’ try, istead of ‘the divine.’
