Cyber-Psalm 62

For the Elkins family

Bless those you leave and those you take.
Bless them all for Jesus’ sake.

     Blesséd father car-crash torn.
Blesséd family, friends and life forlorn.
     Blesséd are those who mourn.

Bless the mother cancer-crowned.
Bless the children now disowned.

     Blesséd.  Blesséd. Blesséd.
     Blesséd Three-in-One.
     Thrice blesséd.

Bless the daughters, bless the son.
Bless the family minus one.

     Todd is blesséd, heaven-owned.
     Karen is blesséd, now alone.
     Children, dear children, father gone.

Bless Jesus-won and all who grieve.
Bless those you take and those you leave.

  1. Steve says:

Yesterday was the memorial service for Todd. It was very well done. A pastor from his youth in eastern Oregon presided.

Many shared their experiences with Todd over his 43 years. We read scripture together out loud, which had become one of his favorite activities. Hundreds of friends and family came to pay their respects. Many promised to stand by Karen and the kids as they learn to live without their husband and father in the household.

On the evening of his death we spent two hours together reading and discussing God’s word. He expressed several times how he was ready for heaven and was anxious to be there. We don’t believe it is a tragedy that he left at such a young age, but it is going to be difficult to adjust that he will not be here on a daily basis.

    Thanks for the Cyber-Psalm
