Cyber-Psalm 66
Categories: Cyber-Psalm

Hallelujah for heaveny hopes.
Hallelujah for earthy things.
Hallelujah, divine and dusty.
Hallelujah for angel and foe.

Hallelujah, scents and songs.
Hallelujah, stink and screech.
Hallelujah, feast and family.
Hallelujah, starved and loneing.

Hallelujah in the hurting.
Hallelujah in the birthing.
Hallelujah, stressed and angry.
Hallelujah on holiday.

I see you clearest in the darkening.
I feel you closest in the pain.
My vacuum invites your filling.
My shame is outshone by your glory.

Surrounded by pleasures of eye and touch.
And yet we search and grasp.
Paradise conquers first our hearts.
And then invades the earth.

Hallelujah, fill my longing.
Hallelujah, birth my loving.
Hallelujah, heaven here.
Hallelujah, heaven now.

Hallelujah, heart darkness banished.
Hallelujah, kin and foe embraced.

  1. Theophrastus says:

In a brief dyslexic episode, I momentarily saw the first line as “Hallelujah for heavenly popes.”

  2. David Ker says:

    Amen! :)

I’m always teetering between poetry and ungrammaticality.
