Mozambican strawberries

This made me reminisce about when my sister and I were sent to the mines strawberry fields as little children. Slaving under the hot sun. Bologna sandwiches. The constant threat of being pelted by a rotten red missile. Those were the good old days. Yesterday Hilary and I went with the kids to the Fonte Boa mission and picked strawberries. It’s only about ten miles from our house. As we were leaving I also discovered that they roast their own coffee. I had some fresh ground this morning and it is a very aromatic Italian roast. My life is so hard.

Here are some photos of our afternoon. At least I hope there are some photos. I’m trying out a new slideshow system.

Hope it’s just me, but looks like your a victim of the dreaded Four O Four. That is the file not found error. In other words, it ain’t working.

I had a suspicion that there were berries around again… good to see Fonte Boa back up and running after the problems a few years ago. We had a very memorable day there in 2005 or so… ahhh… nearly secret fields of fresh berries… my kids were dripping with sticky red smudges as the pickers lavished handfuls on 3 kids under 5 yrs. BUT the coffee wasn’t ready that September day. Maybe I was too late!

Looks like an Error Code 200. Working. Oh, and thanks for the Strawberries.
