Jacaranda Sunset

From 2000 March to October

This photo is from 2000 in the god-forsaken boonies of Mozambique: Nauela, Zambezia. Right now we have a similar view from our front porch. I wonder at the extravagant beauty of nature in secret places. Last night after watching the red sunset filter through the purple blossoms I turned to see a praying mantis devouring aphids on a rose blossom. The marking on its back was like a spiral or maybe a question mark.
